PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The main objective of the project is to provide competitive electricity from renewable sources on the carbon-intensive grid of Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania. The project contributes to the low-carbon transition with 15 wind turbines of 2 MW each for a total installed capacity of 30 MW.

It meets the national sustainable development objectives of increasing electricity production through the promotion of renewable energy in general and wind power in particular, in order to achieve a 20% share of renewable energy in the energy mix by 2020.
