What a well-conducted Décarbon'Action® diagnostic reveals

What does climate action really look like in a company today? We can no longer be content with mere rhetoric: every approach and every project must be based on something concrete, measurable and shared. Whatever the size of the company, the pressure is intensifying: GHG emissions, regulatory requirements, customer and investor expectations, the rise of CSR and ESG... It's no longer enough to draw up an emissions balance sheet (BEGES): you have to demonstrate your ability to control the decarbonization of your activities, to structure a real carbon transition, to integrate the subject at the heart of your energy management...
It's against this backdrop that the Diag Décarbon'Action® becomes a real transformation tool. Much more than just an aid for carrying out a GHG assessment, it offers comprehensive support, designed by public bodies such as Bpifrance and ADEME, to help companies move from observation to action.
The result: a credible roadmap, shared results, and above all, a new way of looking at transition: no longer as a constraint, but as a driver of performance and innovation.

The Diag Décarbon'Action®, a key lever for environmental performance
When a company wants to take a step towards a more responsible future, it can benefit from the Diag Décarbon'Action® program, which comes with a €4,000 grant from ADEME and Bpifrance.
This scheme is aimed at SMEs and ETIs in all sectors, and finances part of the support they need to make the transition to a low-carbon economy.
But it's not just a BEGES. The Diag lays the foundations, structures the approach, and enables the company to build a genuine emissions reduction plan.
As a result, we're moving forward, uniting people and giving the project a new meaning.
Action becomes concrete, managed and shared.
Diag Décarbon'Action®: concrete help to structure your low-carbon trajectory
The Diag Décarbon'Action® is a subsidized scheme supported by ADEME and Bpifrance, enabling SMEs and ETIs to benefit from structured support in their low-carbon transition.
4,000 is available to finance this initial GHG assessment, followed by an operational action plan.
In concrete terms, a well-conducted mission enables the company to scrutinize its activity. No longer content with a total, the carbon footprint is analyzed in detail - activity, purchasing, energy, transport...
This analysis reveals concrete levers, specific to each organization. Decarbonization is no longer something we undergo: it's something we drive.
The company anticipates the future regulatory requirements of its customers (CSRD, SNBC, ESG/RSE...), refines the management of its GHG emissions, and adds value and momentum to its decarbonization approach.
Turning figures into action and structuring a real business project
Diag Décarbon'Action® doesn't stop at BEGES: it makes it useful.
Data becomes decisions, and findings give way to concrete, prioritized action plans, adapted to the realities of the company.
This scheme, supported by ADEME and Bpifrance, has taken over from the "Tremplin pour la transition écologique" public aid scheme.
It is fully in line with the acceleration plan for the ecological transition of VSEs and SMEs, launched by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition.
Support is structured around 5 main stages:
- Study framework (context, objectives, scope, schedule, etc.)
- Data collection
- Producing and reporting the GHG Balance
- Co-construction of the climate action plan
- And transitioning the company
Throughout the project, clear, structured deliverables are provided to the company: scoping note, consolidated data file, feedback report, communication summary, etc. These are all tools for effectively managing emissions reduction, while promoting the company's commitment to its stakeholders.
The methodology used is based on ADEME's Bilan Carbone® reference framework, with emissions factors taken from the Empreinte® database. A guarantee of rigor, regulatory compatibility and credibility.
But one of the great assets of Diag Décarbon'Action® is the quality of the human support provided: companies are monitored by professionals accredited by Bpifrance and ADEME.
And at GCI, we're proud not only to be listed, but also to be recognized for the quality of our consultants' work:
"According to a survey conducted by Bpifrance, 100% of beneficiaries questioned said they were satisfied with the support provided by our GCI experts as part of the Diag Décarbon'Action® program.
With GCI, the company is guided from start to finish, in a clear, structured and accessible format.
Drawing up the balance sheet becomes simple, teams are mobilized, and the environmental transition takes the form of a genuine corporate project.
How to sustain and strengthen your business through a successful low-carbon trajectory.
A structured, reassuring framework for action
The Diag Décarbon'Action® is also about simplicity, clear guidance, and steps that make decarbonization concrete for all teams.
We move forward, we understand, we improve our skills.
At GCI, we have supported several companies in this dynamic.
One of these is Natural Grass, which has turned this system into a real collective project.
Understanding for action: the Natural Grass example
Natural Grass, a European specialist in top-quality sports turf, has chosen to anticipate the challenges of climate change by integrating an ambitious low-carbon strategy. To structure this
In line with this approach, the company carried out its first BEGES with the experts at GCI, within the framework of a Diag Décarbon'Action®.
The result: a precise diagnosis revealing 5716 tonnes of CO2e emitted over the reference year. A useful figure, because it identifies the real levers: raw materials, logistics, mobility, purchasing... The company now knows where to act.
But this process was more than just a snapshot of the existing situation. It resulted in a concrete roadmap, in line with Natural Grass' priorities:
- 14% reduction in relative GHG emissions by 2027
- Choice of recycled and recyclable materials
- Optimizing on-site resources
- Sustainable mobility
- Redesigned logistics
- Promoting reuse and the circular economy
All this, with tailored support, team awareness and simple tools to transform strategy into measurable results.
"This approach has been very well received by all our stakeholders. Teams and management have seen it as an opportunity to structure our actions in favor of ecological transition, while our suppliers and partners have welcomed this initiative, which is part of a dynamic of shared responsibility and continuous improvement."
- Marlène Pivard, Marketing & Communication Manager
"The collaboration was fluid, constructive, and truly adapted to our challenges. The dialogue with the GCI experts was constant, and each stage was carried out under optimal conditions."
This Diag Décarbon'Action® has not only produced a GHG balance sheet: it has launched a collective project that is credible, engaging and aligned with the realities on the ground.
Operational leverage, proven in the field
To date, more than 80 companies have been helped by GCI engineers to draw up a Diag Décarbon'Action®.
This diagnosis goes beyond simple reporting: it lays the foundations for a concrete, structured and realistic transition plan.
Our recommendations are always tailored to the company's sector, size, resources and priorities.
It's a tool for federating teams around achievable objectives, anchored in day-to-day operations.
And on the GCI platform, the results of the Diag Décarbon'Action® are directly translated into courses of action. Personalized support enables the company to prioritize its levers, plan its actions and promote its commitment - both internally and externally.
After Diag: going further with Décarbo'Solution®.
Once the Diag Décarbon'Action® has been completed, the company has a GHG balance sheet, a structured transition plan and actions adapted to its challenges.
The next step? To roll out this dynamic across the whole ecosystem.
That's the aim of Decarbo'Solution®, the offer developed by GCI to help companies put their low-carbon strategy into practice, by involving all their stakeholders.
This solution is based on three complementary modules:
- Decarbo'Target® to simulate reduction trajectories, build a realistic action plan and rally teams around shared scenarios.
- Decarbo'Supply® to involve suppliers: on the GCI platform, they can calculate the carbon weight® of their products or services free of charge (PCF - ISO 14067 / FEMPP - ADEME), identify reduction levers, and provide their customers with reliable data to include in their carbon footprint.
- Decarbo'Tender® to integrate this data into calls for tender, comparing suppliers on the basis of their environmental impact.
In this way, the company no longer confines itself to a diagnosis: it actively steers its climate strategy, with operational tools that are compatible with your existing software and designed to deliver concrete results.
