For more than three decades, IREA has established itself as a leading player in elevator maintenance and installation, combining technical innovation with environmental responsibility. Aware of the impact of its activities on resources and mobility, the company wanted to structure its low-carbon transition in order to combine performance and sustainability.

Why did you decide to embark on a low-carbon transition?

At IREA, we have always been committed to technical performance and environmental responsibility. Our business relies on a wide range of materials and travel, so we felt it was essential to gain a better understanding of our environmental impact in order to take concrete action. Carbon footprint assessment enables us to identify priority levers and develop an approach that is consistent with our values.

What are the key quantified results of your GHG assessment?

IREA's emissions distribution is typical for a construction company. The main challenge lies in the composition and installation of the products themselves: inputs and services (66%) are the largest item on the balance sheet.

How has this approach been presented and received by your teams? your management? your suppliers? your partners?

Management fully supported the initiative, describing the carbon footprint assessment as a strategic lever for continuous improvement. The teams appreciated the transparency and the desire to take concrete action.
For our partners and suppliers, this initiative strengthens our discussions around more responsible practices and promotes a collective dynamic of reducing our impact.

What are your priorities for 2025-2026?

• Structure a carbon database dedicated to purchasing, to better track and manage indirect emissions.
• Assess the carbon footprint of our IREA Lift elevator in order to quantify its unit impacts and identify ways to reduce them.
• Implement an active policy of reusing materials to extend their lifespan and reduce waste.
• Continue the electrification of our vehicle fleet, in line with our energy transition commitments.
• Collect upstream transport data, which is essential for completing our carbon value chain.
• Accelerate employee awareness of energy-saving practices through concrete and regular actions.
